If money were no object, which aviator watch would you wear?

I'd just hire Joe Peshi to shout the time out of a 3rd story window at the top of his lungs everytime I paged him.

I got this one for a graduation present. It's good to have rich relatives.

I would choose this Oris piece!

This would be one of them. A Sinn 757 UTC:

I just got this one. It is a custom modified Seiko SKX007 automatic. New "Sinn/Bell&Ross" dial and hands, aluminum chapter ring and a "Navigator" bezel insert. It is basically a poor man's GMT. Just rotate the bezel for different time zones. I have it on a better strap than the pictured. Also, did I mention that I am a watch nerd?

I love my Timex, too. Cheap & reliable! But if I were rich, I guess a Rolex.

I can't believe nobody has said: my

Cell phone,
yet!

This watch changes times with your time zones and is not attached to you wrist, win.

The wife works for Fossil and I have around 10 Fossils or Fossil-made watches. She gets a really good discount.

Re: If money were no object, which aviator watch would you w

fossils feel cheap to me (construction wise, not $$$ wise). kind of feel like a "throw-away" watch or something, never liked them.

if money was no factor, Bell&Ross

Re: If money were no object, which aviator watch would you w

No one has mentioned Breitling ....the ULTIMATE aviator watch

Among the pilots I fly with, most wear some variation of a cheap and durable digital watch. A Casio G-Shock or the like.

99% of military fighter pilots I know who wear a Breitling ONLY wear one because they purchased a custom version with their aircraft on it:

The fact of the matter is, unlike 60 years ago most of us don't have to use our watch in order to execute our navigation in the aircraft. Guys aren't using their wristwatch to time the non-DME approaches -- most people use some $2.00 digital egg timer with gigantic digits. The actual value of an "aviator watch" is as a status symbol rather than anything with any real utility.

:yeahthat: It is really just "man jewelry" anyway but still, I'm a watch nerd. I just don't have the money to buy anything super-nice. I just wear a Casio G-Shock when I am flying. Partly because when I am in some questionable places it does not scream, "STEAL ME!"

Point well taken, but even in this economy, I can truly appreciate a beautifully made watch with amazing precision and movement...that's just me. I would feel awful wearing a knockoff or something cheap...

Running shoes, "Duck Head" brand khakis and the Auburn shirt doesn't say, "Rob me" enough already overseas? :)
