Is my definition of potable different than y'alls? I thought potable meant drinkable?

So very true, but I was trained, at a very young age, to see the irony in those placards. Are saying that there's a system out ther that is useful?
Which I've heard are sometimes the same hoses that rinse out/refill lav carts. When I was on the DL ramp we were actually forbidden to do potable water service because the water was so bad. I guess they audit stations to see how clean the equipment is. Ours only get used a handful of times in the winter months. No telling what kind of crap festers and grows in there the rest of the year. How often do you think the potable tanks on an airliner are cleaned/serviced? Or how about the garden hoses they use to fill the tanks?
My guess is that it's not weekly, by any means.![]()
