Ice

There's always a first for something, just slipped on ice near Gamble and tumbled to my death. Turned around the corner minding my own business and *WHACK!!!!!!* bloody hand and everything.

I'm suing UND frivilously - California style! :sarcasm:

i hear yah, when i was walking to work this morning, i slipped about 5 or 6 times, didn't fall though. i don't think the state of ND knows what salt is...

Haha, oh man that sucks. I hate it when there's fresh snow on the ground and you just know there's ice underneath. All you can do is just wait for the inevitable. :)

Quick story, sort of. I had to go out to the airport for systems class and was walking across the parking lot when out of no where I just fell flat on my back. Anyone thats ever worn doc martens knows how bad they suck at life when it comes to traction. Anyway, appartently my phone fell out of my pocket and was just lying out there. I was sitting inside the administration building and I heard: "no, this isnt Tom Chant, but we found his phone and dont know where he is". I guess the friggen aviation shuttle ran the damn thing over. Not completely, but enough to send it skipping across the parking lot. HAHA :D

Nothing really happend to it except the hinge is a tad loose. I guess thats pretty good for getting run over by a full 15 passenger van. lol

I slipped on the ramp about a month ago. Haha right into the foot support and it kind of hurt. Yeah dude, no salt, no studs, no chains, slip and crash ND style. I love it how they glaze the ice too so it is more slippery, might as well as leave the snow on it that provides traction.

talking about their sidewalk polishers? i agree, i wish they would just leave the snow, then go over it with a blade and not the brushes that heat it up, then it melts all nice, smooth and slick!

Yeah - like how they clear the roads to where they leave a thin layer of snow thin enough to melt by just the radiation from the sun, regardless of how much below freezing....leaving a nice shiny sheet of ice on the roads. Brilliant work!

But seriously what is the issue with these slippery sidewalks! You would think these ND'an would be perfect in dealing with such issues because of our harsh climate. I seriously think about suing the **** of UND everytime I slip on the nice glazed ice on the sidewalks. I hate frivolous lawsuits, but if I break my ass bone or hurt something watch out UND :D

Yeah, the thing that really baffles me isn't that they end up making the sidewalks more sippery....but the fact that the department who does all the maintenance, snow clearing, etc, has a whole bunch of people in it...none of whom have gone "whoa crap....this isn't working!" Must be UND grads :-P
