I need a new watch...

The only problem is that now I need to get a flying job that matches my quality wrist time keeping device. I guess its time to graduate from instructing, glider towing, and scenic flights. Good thing a 121 job is finally close at hand.

Now when I go to my interview I can answer any questions I don’t know with - "Did you notice my spiffy aviation watch?". This will show the interviewer that clearly I am a pilot to be reckoned with!

A good pilot watch commands "Bow Down" to all opposing forces.

Skyhawk = Eco-Drive (uses light - including indoor sources - to power the watch instead of batteries)
Navihawk = battery driven

They both have teh same functions and a very similar look. The difference is the power source.

gotcha, thanks for the clarification.

Most third party web pages list both the Skyhawk & Navahawk as Eco-Drive. The citizen web site only lists the Skyhawk (no mention of the Navahawk at all there). Is the Navahawk an older version?

Yeah the Navihawk was the first E6B watch citizen made I think.

Here's a pic of it:

My brother has this exact watch. I got it for him as a birthday present a few years back.

This is the Skyhawk that I ordered(as Doug posted) and as far as I can tell the Eco-Drive is the only option these days.

I bought this Bulova 2 years ago and I love it. I wanted the Breitling chrono aerospace but too much $$. But since I bought this Bulova Millennia I haven't wanted another. It has every time zone on the planet including UTC, and it is backlit, which I don't think the Citizen is.

I had the 'white face' variant of that watch and my buttons continuously gummed up. Had to fix it twice!

I got the Titanium Skyhawk as a gift a year or so ago. Sweet watch, but for that price, why the heck can't it have a backlight? The glow in the dark hands last for about 10 minutes after you get in the dark.

I have a Timex Expedition for play time, and for flying at night.

Yeah that is the ONE thing I don't like about the watch - no light/backlight. There is an import version (which is acctually posted in this thread) that has a light but it's a navihawk variant I believe.

THe thing can keep time to the second for years, has 22 world time zones, UTC/24hour dials yadda yadda yadda but they can't figure out how to put a light on it?

That is a kicker. But being able to add/delete time zones is great. I've got a PHX time zone because us "Zonies" are the weird no daylight savings time people.

Yup same here ... first thing I did was put in a PHX zone. Friggin' no DST-observing-state ... grumble grumble ....

Hey, be thankful you don't live in Indiana! Talk about goofy. Some of the state observes DST, some of it doesn't.

Anybody ever have one of these? Personally I don't care for the super duper e6b watches too much. I think I might order one of these though. aircraftspruce.com has them for $129. That fits better into myflight instructor's salary...
