I may have an interview.

Hey everyone,

About two weeks ago I filled an application with Signature flight support in Bedford, MA for an part time line service position. I'm currently 18 years old, have a small employment history, and I do have some background in the aviation field Pre-heating small aircraft at the same airport, in fact on the ramp directly next to Signatures. I also have my PPL so I'm familiar around small piston aircraft.

About a day or so after sending in the application I sent an email to signature in Bedford stating that I filled an application, that I was interested in the position, and that I have some experience in the field and that i'm eager to learn new things, I also asked for advice on how to improve my chances, such as what they are looking for. Now a day or so later I received a voice mail from signatures hub in Sanford, FL, i'm unsure if they saw my email or not but regardless they wanted to talk to me, two days later I called her back and I left her a voice mail. I received an response from her by email two days later about the online assessment program, I completed this and called her back today and she told me to expect a call either this weekend or Monday, she asked if I was free next week which I responded yes, she told me once she received a response from the Bedford manager she would contact me, I'm hoping this means I will be called in for a interview, I don't know though. What do you guys think? What do you think I should do next? Should I call the Bedford Hub telling them i'm interested in the position? Or should I just wait for the hub to call me?

Just wait for HR to call back. Everything goes through them. Oh, and good luck with the interview. Hopefully you will join the Signature team.

Wait for a call, if you have made it through to HR and in contact with the base location, they are most likely interested in you.

You'll do fine.

Seriously, if you want to be there, you'll get a job. There are a lot of people there just waiting to get to the next job. They'll pick you up no problem. Just remember, winter is coming and they need people to replace those that don't like snow.

Hey everyone

Just an update, I had my interview today at 10:00AM in Bedford.

I wore dress pants, shoes, socks, shirt, and a tie to the interview, I also got a haircut so I could look Professional.

I got to the interview 5 minutes prior, once there I greeted the front desk in a friendly manner and told them that I was here for a interview, once the interview started the General manager and another employee both walked into a room with me where the interview started. They asked the basic questions such as what do we do, any questions, when can you start, what type of experience do you have, etc... I think my only problem came when they asked me to use three words to describe myself, I dident think of this so I had to think for abit, I dident take to long but it was defiantly noticeable, I told them I was monocronic meaning I'm timely, dedicated telling them that I was always willing to learn, stayed until I was told to go and didn't complain, etc... I'm not sure how the interview went though, the thing that concerns me is it was only 15 minutes at the most, they told me they will call on Monday once they finish interviewing the others, there are four of us competing for one spot.

Sounds like you did good. Hopefully I will be able to welcome you to the Signature family on Monday.:rawk:

Hey everyone,

Just an update I called today and they filled the position with another candidate, ah well guess I didn't get it. They told me to keep checking for open positions on the website and apply so i'm defiantly going to keep a close eye on it, good thing is I will be working right next to them over the weekend at a smaller flight school Pre-heating planes so I can check in every one and awhile, i'm confident I can get it next time. =)

I didn't get hired my first time I went through an interview process with an FBO....three times.

A little under a year later, hired. Two years later, hired at a larger, busier FBO.

You've got the right attitude, your foot is in the door.
