but,

the new rule, requiring ATP

does that apply to majors and regionals or just majors?

and

when is it going to effect?

sorry for not paying attention

Germans -

Derogatory description of another person's belated observation or contribution to the conversation or thread, indicating that their observation is 'old news' despite they're thinking it's 'new news.' Etiology: Belushi's character (Bluto) asks, " Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" to which Otter questions Boon, "Germans?" Boon responds "Forget it, he's on a roll."

Well, I've got a Jermaine question. Do you think he's going to put out an album to capitalize on all of the hype surrounding the death of Michael Jackson? :)

Both majors and regionals, any 121 operator.

It's not a law yet, then the FAA will have 2-3 years to put it into effect

How dare you make me look up words and learn something. I don't remember ever hearing this word...:dunno::beer:

I think my first exposure to that word was Car and Driver magazine back in the 80's. They used to describe the seats in BMW's and Mercedes vehicles as being suitable for Teutonic asses but not American asses. :laff:

so,

what about all the guys that are flying now, that won't have it then? is it retroactive?
By the time it becomes law, and then the FAA has the 2-3 years to activate it, all under 1500 TT pilots flying currently *should* have the time required.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the thread title!

I wouldn't worry about this new law too much, I'd worry about getting a college degree;)

Ja, Ja.. :D

Not a law yet, covers all 121 and if and when it does come into effect, im sure it will have a grandfather rule, as do most new rules the faa brings out.

:rotfl: maybe, maybe not.

He is putting out a reality tv show though!

And no I don't visit that website, first one that popped up on google search. I saw it on a commercial on A&E earlier.

I thought the OP was typing 'germane' and just had a typo.

Mel Brooks got me up to speed on this term via Lili Von Shtupp, the "Tuetonic Titwillow."

The new rule is really targeting the regionals anyway, brought to the forefront by the recent Colgan accident.

It's more or less a mute point with the majors; they don't generally hire folks with fewer than 1,500 hours anyway.
