Inlight of RAH flying 190's for midwest, I believe that either Skywest or Pinnacle are going to be annouced as the American company that placed an order of 16 CRJ 1000's that were purchased a year ago and annouced as an "undisclosed buyer". Maybe they will fly them for Midwest, maybe for someone else. Do I hope I am wrong? Yes! Do I want this to happen, No! No rumor here, just a prediction.
What are your thoughts?

I doubt its Pinnacle. Do the pinnacle guys have any language in the still to be finalized contract for larger aircraft?

Seriously???

Pinnacle is too busy spending (read: blowing) money on their own pilot "Academy" to think about buying airplanes...

Scope is the big hang up right now. AFAIK nothing is finalized in that section.

Laugh all ya wanna, man, but it wouldn't surprise me. It's not like we're gonna pay cash for the things. They can just finance the hell outta them like the Q400s. In light of the recent news from RAH, I REALLY hope the negotiating committee goes for the jugular on 76+ seat pay rates. Otherwise, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see the press release saying "Pinnacle to operate CRJ-1000s" and us get hosed in arbitration on a pay scale.

I heard that scope is pretty much all that is left. Understand they are supposed to have another mediated session starting around 6/9, possibly in Washington, but nobody knows for sure.

Definitely in the "end game" so to speak... Just wondering if things are leading more toward checkmate or stalemate...

Yeah, but I'm betting we're gonna be released before we see the company give in on scope....

I THINK that AWAC is the only regional that could operate the 1000 for anyone right now and that would be United because of our BAE146 scope clause and it says we can replace them one for one.

Yes I know we don't fly for united anymore but the language is still in their contract.

But I really don't see any mainline carrier going with the 1000. I would expect them to go with the 190 if anything.
