I don't get it, maybe I'm missing something

Your agent was "factually inaccurate" if that's what she actually said. There is most certainly a meal service from ATL to CDG. In fact… two.

If you weren't served a meal, give me your confirmation number and I will inquire.
I've flown on that flight going back and forth, even with @Derg in the cockpit, and have received meals every time. Not once did I ever not receive a meal on that flight. I'm not sure what happened on her flight, but I can assure you that is not what normally happens.

I'll check it out. Just shaking the sand out of my shoes after Hawaii.

But it really doesn't make any sense whatever, but I'll see.

I flew that Delta flight back in May and received two meals going (dinner and breakfast) and one meal (lunch) coming back. I was also in economy comfort. The more serious question I would like to have answered though is how come I can use Skymiles or pay ($500-600) to get Canada and then fly back to ATL to go non stop to Tokyo for roughly $2,300-2,500 total but the ATL non stop to Tokyo is over $8,000 RT or ATL-MSP/DTW-TYO is over $6,000 RT?!?

I used to fly on FlyDubai and it flew to the crappiest places in the world, meaning all over the Mid-East and they had excellent service. The air waitresses were often good looking, smelled good, young. Is what it is.

The US3 can cry foul until they are blue in the face. That's their prerogative, but it will get them nowhere. The playing field isn't level. If it was, the US3 wouldn't exist any longer.

Whether there is any truth to the allegations levelled at the ME3, and I really don't care either way, that's not the be-all and end-all of the OP's question. Look at Asian carriers. You'll get a 3 course meal from HKG to TPE. SQ, ANA, CX, and many, many more provide vastly superior service, and are far less protected than the US carriers.

The point I'm making is just a repeat of a point already stated - it's nothing to do with uneven playing fields. It's because the market has spoken, and it's price sensitive in the US. The US3 are printing money. It's not as if they couldn't afford to pour it into upgrading their poor product offerings; however, they've worked out the limited wisdom in doing so. The demand for lavish product just isn't there, as it appears to be in Asia.

The US3 are now adapted to their market. It took a long time, but it seems they're about there.

If you want a better product, you can choose an Asian carrier to head west, and a Euro carrier to head east.

Don't laugh. I've had captains do exactly that!
We do exactly that. I'm not aware of any pilots at my company that will push without the correct catering. I'm sure there's a couple, but to get the whole crew to go along is unheard of.

Uh, I was just on ANA in business HKG-NRT and I assure you there was no 3 course meal. Unless the peanuts and the drink count as course 1 and 3.
The only airlines I've been one with great food and three courses has been Emirates and Etihad.

Take two.....CDG-ATL today (economy comfort) she also packed a sammich. Either way, there certainly more important things in the world to worry about.

Not in Economy Comfort initially for the CDG-ATL leg (but in her prefered window seat). Upgraded to Economy Comfort after landing at CDG, from Berlin (however in aisle, but bulkhead so alles gut), aircraft change and kicked back out of Economy Comfort and now window seat no longer available and put in center aisle near the back. The hits just keep on coming. Got food though.
