I can\'t wait to start!

Its been a while since i've posted here....i apologize. But today I have something to talk about. Yesterday my dad and I went down to the flight school at our local airport and I signed up to start lessons towards my PPL. I cant wait! I have the entire summer off from school to focus entirely on flying and a small part time job to help pay the costs. My instructor said he'd give me a call the last week of May to schedule my first lesson! I also have to decide on what type of aircraft to fly, headset to own, and all the other study materials for ground school. Any input would be appreciated.

Now I'll finally be able to join in on some of the more technical questions posted here...I hope. LOL. Thanks for all your replies in advance.

the cheapest one possible, as long as your not like 250lbs or something. i am training in a 150 right now and it has been great.

definatly go for ANR even though it will cost more more in the short run it is definatly worth the money in the long run.....plus if you want to be able to hear as an old man you will definintly want to go with ANR

Ditto. I went ahead and purchased a good headset that would last through all of my training and then some. I got the DC 13.4's and LOVE them.

Re: I can\'t wait to start!

I won't give you any advice other than to have a great time with your training. You will have a lot of fun but you will also run into a lot of challenges. Regardless, have a great time, and enjoy the process!

Re: I can\'t wait to start!

Just be sure you take your ground training very seriously. There is a lot more to the PPL then being able to just fly the plane. I tried to teach a kid last summer but he blew off the ground school part of it and never even soloed.....I was fighting the PS2 is more fun than studying syndrome.
