anyone know any places that fly humanitarian ops? airserv is the only one i can really come up with searching online....and apparently theyre not doing so hot these days anyway.

Well, I've looked, and basically its airserv, or mission work. Since I don't proselytize I'm cut out of much of the humanitarian flying.

thats what i gathered as well. i dont feel i need to bring a side-dish of jeebus along with bags of rice...

Blackwater?

Actually yes, but I just talked to a friend of a friend mine who worked for them. You have to know someone, or have a Metro/Casa/equipment they have type rating, or have considerable international experience.

Yeah, I knew their requirements; I was just wondering if this was what the OP was looking for.

They are pretty strict on their requirements, though, I agree.

Most of the humanitarian Flying is in Africa. In Asia and SA there are more companies like MAF...

The one with US registration are few, in Africa a lot have South African registration..

When I was in PNG I saw a lot of humanitarian flying, but that's a go there and show up at their door kind of job...

Ken Wittikiend at ProMark Aviation in Burnet, TX has done a fair amount of humanitarian flying - did quite a bit in Haiti recently. Number is on his website -ProMark Aviation Services Give him a call and I'm sure he'd be willing and able to point you in the right direction.

I did my TW work with him and he's a fantastic human being.

Cool, I might give him a shout. Thanks!

Know any specific doors to knock on?

Oh btw I fail everything except #7 for MAF's requirements.

I'd be down with any of those, but chances of me getting a security clearance with my credit/finances are slim/none. And I dont have type/time.

Not just that, but they're VERY specific on experience requirements in-type, and by nature of operations.

World Health Organization (WHO) does a bunch of HA work. Plus it's a never ending source of slapstick:

Did you see those helos at the airport?
>Yes.
Who owns them?
>Exactly!

Those white ones, right there?
>Yes
Who operates them?
>They do indeed!

Hours of endless fun when HA turns into day after day of feverish work.
