Too bad, what a good looking airplane....

^ Exactly my thoughts. I lost my brother last month at the Duxford Flying Legends airshow in the UK. The Firefly was a very rare aircraft (maybe the only flying example).. but the lives of my brother and his pilot were worth infinately more than the plane. My thoughts are with the family of the pilot of the Hughes 1B.

It crashed over Yellowstone NP? What was he doing over there? I imagine search and rescue operations there are difficult.

He was on his way home from Oshkosh. What a shame. What a beautiful aircraft. I got a lot of great photos of it on Aeroshell Square at Oshkosh this year.

My heart goes out to Jim's family and friends.

In Pace Requiescat....
