Can anyone explain/send me a link for a site maybe even a book that explains how the heck you use an HSI....I dont get it! How is that supposed to make anything easier? gracias

Simply, it is like placing the VOR CDI directly over the heading indicator.

Only every time I get in the airplane. It saves you from mentally overlaying the heading indicator/directional gyro/whatever it's called this week and the CDI. Pretty sexy.

HSI + DME is pretty much the best thing ever. Every "big" airplane that's not glass that I've seen is basically HSI + DME + RMI with the exception of Evert's DC6s. Seriously. Its awesome.
