How would one lock in a CRJ?

One of my favorite captains is Jewish! Seriously. Who do you think answered my "Hard Questions" questions about being Orthodox and pursuing a career in aviation?

Funny thing is, one of his daughters did a presentation on careers as a pilot and he was like "my daughter sent you like six emails but never once asked me a question about flying, what the hell..."

She huh? Who do you work for? I recently read that only like 91 out of 1500 or so pilots at Skywest are female. A girl I went to high school with is a pilot for Skywest. What has everyones experience with female pilots been?

I work at SkyWest. This particular captain holds a much better schedule on the EMB, and likes the west coast flying, so she is going back to the EMB.

I have flown with 2 female captains at SkyWest. Both were excellent pilots. The one I spoke about above is going back to the EMB, the other recently got hired by SWA, which was her dream.
There were 2 females in my class of 38, and I've seen quite a few female FO's around the crew lounges lately.

Kristie, I've been on crews with female pilots in the air force and unfortunatly this question does need to be asked. I've had good experiences at SkyWest though.

SJS is a good thing it keeps flight schools in buisness and flight instructors in the air.

Seriously I had it when I signed up and most of the people on this forum did to.

Pilot = Shiny jet, F/A's, cool hat, world travel, bank roll.

I cant believe I once thought this way but I did.

ESF I understand were you are coming from but I think you need to put yourself in his shoes or remember when you were in his shoes.

Alright, both of you, not all natives are from Bithlo and talk like Cletus. Some of us are sophisicated, live by the beach (in extreme Southeast Georgia (northeast FL)) and have even educated ourselves. However, there are still that select few Wal-Martians that give us a bad name.
 
Can't really say much considering I'm from Mississippi. Talk about an overabundance of people giving a population a bad name. I even get "Funny, you don't SEEM like you're from Mississippi" a lot.....
 
Exactly. I've had 1 person in 25 years tell me I had a southern accent, and that was 4 months ago from a very strange FA.

He's cool, one of the people that I consider an active mentor of sorts. He's the type of guy that I can send a professional question to and he'll get back to me the same day. I think if Scott Bakula and Ben Stiller had a love child, that would my pal ES!
 
Not even close. She's into Medieval Times fairs and is a security guard at Star Trek conventions. She's quite the odd one. It was all the Captain and I could to keep from laughing during her stories. Unfortunately, I could not control my "eye-roll," she never caught it, however. We have a few cute FAs at XJT, but she wasn't one of them. Neither were any I've flown with in the past 6 months. (sigh) In fact, she said it in kind of a derogitory way.
