Looks like there is an issue with the bomb bay doors. Hopefully they can manually crank them up and taxi back out.

Very short first flight, something must have not gone to plan.

The wind was getting quite gusty, up to around 25 or so. Probably not super great flight testing conditions for their comfort levels! It was absolutely stunning to see this bird fly for the first time in more than 60 years. I live in Wichita, to I'm hoping to see it fly quite a bit more.

They had a chip detector light after takeoff that's why they cut it short.

Well it can either be nothing, or a bad thing. The chip detectors in the B-17 and B-24 I fly are notoriously innacurate. It was probably nothing, well it was hopefully nothing.

That's what in hoping to hear. That it was an inaccurate indication.


It was nice to see Doc fly this morning, even if it was sitting at the breakfast table.
