How to find Crash Pads

Are there any other websites (other than crewcommute.com) or ways to find out about crash pads available? I wont know for sure my base until next week but I was starting to look at possibilities for my top 2 base choices. Albany, NY and Augusta Maine.

Any ideas?

I have stayed in 2 different crash pads in 2 different cities. I just found both of them by talking to other people based in those cities.

The best way to find a crashpad is word of mouth. Talking to other commuters in your base, and just getting the word out that you're looking for a place. Also, most crew rooms have a bulletin board where people can post stuff, there's usually lots of flyers up from crash pads looking for people.

Ha ha!! You would think that would be an obvious one!!! :yeahthat:

Thanks for the info. My top 2 base choices (and Im 99% sure I will get one of these 2) are Albany, NY and Augusta, ME. Anyone know of crashpads either place? I will know for sure next week but wanted to start looking.

If you get based in Albany, I would suggest looking at one of the University advertisement sections for a place to stay.

If you get based in Augusta, I can get you the number of the guy who runs the pad there or one of the gate agents might be looking for a roomie.

Did you get the Beech? Wasn't it a Saab class?

Amber's right.

I've offered my couch as a crash pad for some people here.

I've actually never thought about it, but If anyone needs a place to stay in the PHL area, I have an extra bedroom. The train station is a 10 minute walk from my house and will get you directly to PHL in 80 minutes for $10...just throwing it out there.

Out of 18 of us, 6 of us got the Beech. I really look forward to flying the Beech but Im a bit worried that they only operate 6 Beeches at this time and plan to do away with them completely by the end of 2008. I'd like to get PIC time in it before upgrading to Sabb Cptn. But I will take whatever.

As far as looking in the University adv section... I'm worried about being stuck in with a "partier" college student. Not that Im a prude or anything but just like a quiet place. Thanks for the info and I will let ya know where as soon as I find out.
