How soon do you hear from FAA via CTI post?

HI, everyone!

I've been to the Lewis university today looking at CTI program. It would cost me about 35G to complete it. I'm 27, and I will be 29,5 by the time I graduate. What are the chances of me picked up by 31? Probably, no very high:( I spoke to a ACT rep there. He said the chances are small. He stated there are currently 6000 people on the list (not sure which one. I'm thinking those are the one's who could be potencially interviewed +farther in process), but the need is under 3000. Also, he stated that due to the economy, there are about 3 new reps per 6 that are retiring... So, he advised to just wait and not spent big $ on school as that wouldn't make a big difference. I was hoping it would bring me to the top of the list, but obviously, "not high enough"...:dunno:

Please, advise

Thank you

As I understand it still takes around a year to get hired, but you are preferential unless someone has previous CPC experience. So you generally get picked up. I would start CTI asap and keep applying to PUBNAT's.

BTW... awesome avatar.

It's the government, That means hurry up and wait. Here, fill out this paperwork the day before we give it to you becauses it's the most important thing in the universe. Oh, no we haven't processed it yet after 3 months because we're busy. 4 months later, ok, we processed that stuff now, call this number yesterday to get this thing done. Repeat ad nauseam until you get a FOL; then don't expect to hear anything from anyone, unless they move your date. Call maybe once a month to every six weeks and be told to be patient. Wait some more. Troll the forums complaining about your HR rep while waiting, then wait some more. Did I mention there is waiting?

To be brutally honest and after talking with my fellow classmates, the average wait between steps was 4 months.
