Don't sweat it. I'm also a towering 5'3". My interest in being an airline pilot was rekindled when I ran into a Northwest pilot who was exactly the same height as me.
Once upon a time, airlines had official and unofficial height limits of 5'6" to 6'5" or so. Why? Because they could. An ample supply of military and civilian pilots meant they could have restrictions like height and requiring 20/20 vision.
Back when I got most of my ratings, both restrictions were in place, so I gave up on being an airline pilot. Over the last decade, both of those requirements have been dropped, and I'm trying to get back on track with my career (after a good delay of about oh 20 years or so.)
See you on the flight line!
