I can't remember the last time Bill or I non-reved. When we were living in ORD, he used them weekly to get to work, and that was it.
I do hope to use them in the future when the boys are a little older and able to appreciate travelling. When they can 'get something' out of travelling, I want to take them all over and show them the world. It would be kind of pointless now, cause they're so young they wouldn't remember it. I want them to know where they are, and be able to really enjoy it.
Of course, I'm also hoping that by some miracle by the time the kids are old enough to travel loads will be light enough to actually get somewhere! It's crazy impossible to non-rev right now. Well, I shouldn't say impossible, but it's NOT easy.
Even when I was still flying and we had pass cards on two airlines we still didn't use them much. If you go somewhere, even if the airfare is free or nominal, you still have to eat, sleep, and get around wherever you've gone. That can add up!
