How not to interview?

They shouldn't apply to Northwest then. I sat up front on one of their diesel 9's and I think Amflight's Metro's were better equipped :)

That's what we told them. You always hear those guys asking for headings. We at least have an enroute IFR GPS. And there is talk about us getting Garmin 400s fleet wide. You should hear the senior captains raising cane about it though. These guys are so old school they'll probably just turn them off because they don't wanna learn something new. I guess that's what happens when you have 25,000 hours in airplanes built in the early 70s. They still think the 35 is a button pushing airplane compared to the 20 series.

You get that everywhere mike. Going from Laredo to North Carolina a while ago, I asked the captain couple the autopilot to the GPS. He said it didn't work, never does, don't trust it, we'll try it to show you. 1200 miles later and we tracked straight! Old guys are scared of new things because they don't take the time to understand them. After all that he looked at me and said, "I've never seen it work before, prolly a fluke!" Yea.
 
Shoot, I remember being really excited to have a really old RNAV to plot a course with. Many thanks to my training roommate for teaching me to program that sucker.

Sounds like this guy already decided he didn't get or want the job. No excuse for not appreciating a free ride, however. I really do not like people like that.

Same here! I as well get too many ppl that heavily rely on equipment with computer screens. Sure its good for situational awareness, but use your backups. As we advance further the mind gets dumber. No more thinking and troubleshooting yourself. Hence why I never wanted to start my career off in a friggin regional jet. I wanted to fly! :nana2:
