How much did you make last year?

I think this edit was a little over protectionism on the part of the moderator.

For one, Don has about the thickest skin I've seen in the industry. Words don't hurt him.
Secondly I think meritflyer's comments should not be censored so we can see who meritflyer really is. With the ALPA avatar one might even conclude his posts represent the position of ALPA.

All it would do is drag this thread off topic. I thank the moderator for preventing that and also for helping Merit out; He really is not himself lately. Alot going on I am sure.

Thanks to those who kept the thread on topic.

I agreed with some of what you said until that. You ought not to take the posts of a probationary regional first officer as the position of ALPA and if you don't know better not to, then you aren't thinking hard enough!

Thanks for your opinion, however when you sign up for Jetcareers, you're agreeing to abide by the rules. You don't have to agree with them, but you will respect them during your stay.

Doug , If you don't mind could you share your salary? It would be cool to know what a big Delta 767 FO is making:)

As for me being that im 16

Position - Food Service Worker at the Hospital ( I bring food to the sick and elderly :))

Airline - about a decade ahead of myself lol

Years at current job - 4 monthes

Earnings - Oh GOD here we go:( $2,500 tear tear lol

Alot of people do not feel comfortable sharing salary info, and that is fine. I am sure Doug woulda shared if he had wanted to.

As for guessing, I know he is an FO. Been with Delta for somewhere around 13 years?

Checkout the payscales on APC and you can get a decent idea, but I am guessing his gross to be somewhere around 130-140 before per diem.

I think Doug is on 10th year pay. If memory serves me right, Doug is a year senior to Bill, and he's on 9th year pay now.

If he wants to share more, he will :)

In the past "what you make" disclosures have been met here with less than pleasant responses ranging from "you're bragging" to "I know someone who makes more." I would venture to say that almost anybody here would be willing to share this information if it were used by others to establish what one could reasonably expect to earn in various capacities in this industry. Nobody here wants to have attitude thrown back at them for private and personal information they voluntarily share. Please keep that in mind as you gain from this private information that some choose to share. That being said:

Airline: Continental Captain
Years there: 18
W2 Box 1: $211977.57
W2 Box 2: $58944.56 (Federal Taxes taken):banghead:

Very well put and thank you for sharing sir.

And that is why I have not posted anything from Bill's W-2. If he wants to share, he can. But I'm not going to post it for him.

I posted my info, because, well, no one can claim I'm bragging about making nothing!

Ouch!!! I'm betting you get a huge refund every year, right? Add some allowances to your W4 and keep that money through the year. Letting the government hold on to your money is costing you interest income.

Position: EMB-145 FO
Airline: XJT
Years at current job: 1 year 2 months
I was on 1st year pay until December 11, 2007. I passed my PC and started getting paid on January 31, 2007. With delays in the training department and such, I didn't actually get on line until late April 2007. (!)
Gross Earnings:
27336.27 (includes per diem of around $4500-$4600)

I logged 662.7 hours over 348 segments. That's 1.9 block hours per segment average. Not bad for a "regional" airline.

Job offer in hand from another company...
Airline: Expat pilot in Europe
Base salary of $120,000 plus $100/flight hour + per diem. All housing costs paid for as well as three business class tickets for the family home per year.

My wife and I are flying out in a few weeks for a meeting with upper management and the president of the company, also we will be shown apartments and meet other flight crews. If I take the offer then final arrangements will be made as well.

I've been very interested in expat flying, but have no idea where to start looking. Any suggestions? I've got a CE560XL type...those things are all over Europe...or so I'm told.

Well the UPS guys posted, how about the Fed-Ex'ers? Come on guys we need something to strive for on those cold lonely nights in trucker hotel rooms.

Asking a FedEx pilot how much he made last year is a good way to get a smelly, sweaty, hiking sock thrown at you and your monitor, and a "None of Your Damn Business!" barked at ya! :D

Position: CFII
Years at current job: 1 year
Gross Earnings: 35K after taxes

Very flexible schedule. Fly when you want. Half of the weekends or more I took off. 700+ hours dual given. Zero benefits, Zero medical, but cheap living.
