How much did you make last year?

Position: FO
Airline: Netjets
Years at Airline: 2.5
2007 Gross Earning: $53,000

- This was for half the year on year 2 pay, half on year 3 pay.

- I'm with the "I want to be at home" crowd, so those numbers do not reflect working extra days which may have been available for those who are more motivated for $$$$.

-We also passed a new contract on December of '07, so those numbers would be higher for someone coming onboard now.

Anyone heard from Doug?

How much vacation do new hires get?

Vacation for new hires is prorated upon hire date to the beginning of the next vacation bid @ 2 weeks/year. I'm not exactly sure of the formula, but it seemed to work out fine when it happened to me. After completion of the first year of service, you get the full 2 weeks.

Just took a look at some number off of APC, and a pilot in my same situation under the new contract (6 months on yr 2 pay, 6 months on yr 3 pay) would have base pay of $61,302. My base pay this past year was about $43K, and the rest was OT, holiday pay, etc (per diem not included).

Positon: 1/2 yr FO 1/2 yr CA
Airline: Colgan

2007 Gross: $43,424

Notes: I cherry pick open time to do some travelling and work on the occasional day off if it's a big flying block day. I averaged 12 days off a month flying about 83 hrs and I flew 991 hrs for the year.

I made 1 billion dollars. mmmmmwa hmmmmwaaa

Position: 737 FO
Airline: Seattle Airlines
Years at Airline: 1 year, 3 months
Gross Earnings: $37,786
Hours Flown: 564

Quite a difference from 2006: $72,432 (48% paycut first year coming to the majors).
2008 will be much better, probably close to my last year at St.George Airlines, then 2009 will start to outpace it.

I made about $53,000 in taxable income, nontaxable income, and per diem, mostly as a reserve bum. With capital gains, I probably made a bit more but I don't recall off the top of my head.
