If they can put an ils on the field it can't be that bad.
I believe SPIFR or some job where hand flying is used a lot provides a better foundation for a pilot to toss automation on top of. Being able to make stupid mistakes to learn from without risking anyone's life is a bonus..
The GS is NOTAMd OTS right now, though looks like its going to be that way for a while given that all the approach plates just say LOC. not sure what the deal is, maybe my foreflight is just on crack.Ah crap, you're right. I just imagined it.
I guess I never really thought about a lack of a solid state AHRS until this thread. What make/models? Just curious now.I've flown 3 aircraft now that have EFIS/glass AHRS driven by mechanical gyros.

Holy cow!
I didn't know we were having a pee-pee measuring contest!
I win! WooooOooOOOoO!
Eh, I think it's been pretty minimal compared to other dongle measuring threads.

Well, obviously, you spun a twin - takes the cake hands down. Can you relate that story to us again Papa Derg? (No but seriously, that's a good story)
"I then asked him if his slide rule could measure one man's fate against another's."I actually had an inadvertent spin in a Seneca because I was a flipping over-confident idiot doing Vmc demos too near the 'critical altitude'.
I got out of it because of dumb luck.
