How Many Hours?

$180,000? Typo right? Is $18,000 correct?

You haven't researched Riddle have you?

I was eligible for the best scholarships offered at Riddle, and it was going to cost more out of pocket than no scholarships at a state college, and that was without flying.

I started with 0 and ended with about 750. I became in instructor during the beginning of my Junior year and started out with 7 students as a partimer and really built some time quick. Once I graduated in May of 2009 they layed me off.

Figgures, the tards lay you off just as your ready to become full time.

200 hours does not sound bad, but what about the multi engine track? Does anyone know under the current training plan how many total hours one can expect to fly before taking the CFI?

Well you know it really sucked when it happened. As a partimer you really have to put up with a lot and have no choice but to do it since the part time employees don't have a union. And not to say that all flight instructors need a union it was just depressing seeing the school try to force the full timers to do something and they bring the union in and the union would not allow it so the school would come to the part time employees and force us to do whatever they wanted, such as take our students away from us at end of course and have someone with a low passrate sign them off an get the credit and vice versa give us a student at end of course that's not ready an essentially force us to sign them off and if they failed then oh well at least it didn't tarnish the full timers record. Also whenever the part time employees wanted more pay or any additional benefits at all, once again the union came in and screwed us over again saying well you can't raise pay for part timers unles full time employees get better wages too. So that ALWAYS shut us down from any pay increases.

But now I see it as a blessing that I got let go. There aren't many networking possibilities there and I would have most likely stil been there flying the same airplanes a year later. But since they got rid of me it forced me to get out of my comfort zone and look for something that was better than what Riddle could offer me. I kept telling myself I did not want to be a career flight instructor and I may have gotten stuck there if they didn't give me the shove out the door.

The cost of attendance starting fall 2010 including flight is @ $53,000.00 per year. 0 time thru cfii so at this time they've passed the $200,000.00 mark it cost to attend Cornell University or Harvard.

t. Are there any Alumni who graduated with an Aeronautical Science degree?

MikeD and I do not exist. We are just figments of your imagination, including our degrees in Aeronautical Science from ERAU.

Look into the light..... *FLASH!*
