I am looking to fast track or at least fly a good amount. If I start a college program with my PP can I go ahead and do a checkride on the schools plane and begin to log hours either on my own PIC or with instructor. I believe the required amount is 190hrs for commercial. Same question but for simulator time.
I am asking because I would have to be away from the family until the program is completed and I'd prefer to obtain hours on a quicktime manner.
I read that one school (mgc) doesn't allow hours to be built on your own ie if you own a plane or rent one. Maybe it's a FAA rule for part 141. Weekends could be utilized to log hours in my fatherinlaws c152. It's and old but nice plane and the price is right. Just curious on that.
I'd assume that I may be held back on getting maximum hours until instruments are achieved.
Again- how many hours could a student fly in a semester? Is there a max number allowed by the program or is it limited by instructor/plane availbility.
