How long will the hiring boom last?

Some people also recommend sleeping with hookers, smoking crack and all sorts of other really exciting things...

To skip the CFI stage of LEARNING to be a pilot would be a mistake..

What regional is hiring at 500 and 50?

Eagle, Colgan, and a couple of others. A few literally just wanted you to have a license.

With all due respect, what makes you an "expert" and what do you do in aviation? As usual, someones legitimacy is measured my the number of flight hours and not by their overall intelligence on the subject matter. You'd be surprised how much I do know even with my limited number of logged hours.

This quote single handedly made me realize how these "low time regional pilot bashers" really feel ... 25 hours and trying to give advice? Are you kidding me? As a low timer (400/25) myself, I can now see what these guys that got hired with 1500+ are talking about... 25 hours!?

Anyway, I dont care what you do, but if you need to be talked into getting a CFI certificate you may not have the drive required to obtain one. But, I will tell you I got my CFI because its going to get me the hours I need to go where I want to work... go to a bottom feeder and jump ship if you'd like, its time to start making some decisions... better hope it pays off. (then again none of us know our fate in the end in this industry, I just hope the route I chose pays off :o)

Ahh....takes me back to my student pilot days. 18 was a great age.

You'd be surprised how much you dont know. Try flight instructing and find out...;)

I'm going to echo the "don't bypass the CFI route."

I'm hoping this hiring boom stays in effect, but the industry is quite cynical.

Proud Pilot,

I'm officially calling BS on you.

Your "join date" to Jetcareers is listed as Feb 25, 2008. That's 11 days ago.

Your profile says you're a student pilot with 25 hours. I'm assuming you filled out your profile information when you joined.

In another thread you wrote about all your endorsements as a student pilot. You told of endorsements for repeat solo cross countries, night solos, no limitations placed on you by your instructor, etc.

You also talked about flying aerobatics solo and taking your private pilot checkride in an aircraft you got checked out in in 0.3 hours.

To be blunt, nothing you say makes sense. You went from being a student pilot with 25 hours to fully licensed in a week? You found an instructor who would endorse you for every privilege out there, with no limitations? And now you get offended when a very reputable JC member questions your experience? Give me a break.

This is ridiculous. I gave you the benefit of the doubt in the other thread, but I don't believe any of it now.

If you come clean and let us all know what your real background is, I think we all can forgive and forget. If you insist on making up stories, you won't find much love around here.

In case anyone is wondering, here is the thread I was referring to:

http://forums.jetcareers.com/genera...nce-vs-risk-in-flight-schools.html#post813315

And the specific quote:

When I was a student pilot, my CFI, who as the head CFI at our flight school, signed me off for solo aerobatic flights (Robin R-2160), solo night flying, repeat unsupervised solo cross countries both day and NIGHT. Even though I was still a student pilot, I would go up with him whenever the weather was bad to get as much actual IFR as possible in all seasons (ice, fog, thunderstorms). I wanted to see it for real before getting on at a regional.

It was so cool going out on a solo flight in the R-2160, walking out to the flightline carrying my parachute! My private pilot checkride was taken in a CE-152 due to the Robin being down for mx. I didn't know that the Robin was down until showing up at the airport in the morning. My CFI informed me that I could reschedule in the Robin or if I wanted to still do the checkride the same day, I could get a quick checkout in a CE-152. I had never flown the CE-152 prior to my checkride, so we went up to do a couple of touch and goes in order for me to get comfortable with it. The examiner had a strange look on his face when he read on my certificate application that the total flight time in aircraft that I was taking the checkride in was 0.3 hrs.

I guess you have to have been a member for years with hundreds of posts in order to not be thought of as a poser? You guys sound like some on FI that think that any new member must be there under false pretenses.

Not that we think that... but when you show inconsistencies as you've been showing, we tend to wonder...

from reading the above and the few posts you've had in the xjet cola thread, i'm starting to lend a watchful eye myself (as an admin).

this is a real pilot career site, not a virtual airline pilot site and definitely not a flight sim site.

we don't do posers well. we don't like to assume anyone is "tomcatting" (as we call it) on the board but the group does seem to find out who is posing and who is not quite quickly...the wrath of that is something none of us like to watch (we can go far in our PI work).

if you are posing, i'd suggest coming out ASAP as that will be the only opportunity you have to start anew with this group and not have pie in the face forever.

friendly advice :) ....you do not want to see what happens with tomcatters (aka posers) here.

EDIT: to be honest... reading the two separate threads (Xjet Cola & Balancing experience), i see two different posters entirely.... they both "read" different from each other.

It's not the lack of total number of posts..

It is the sheer ignorance and almost outright flamebait you post..

I mean, you've got less than 30 posts and you've already:

1.) Suggested a Jet Transition course..
2.) Spouted off about your 1000K and out plan...
3.) Alerted everyone you are some super feminine gay pilot who loves cute regional boys...
4.) You have "tons of knowledge" and "25 flights hours.."

Anything scream "I'm trying to start trouble" about that to anyone but me? Next thing you know, you'll be talking about how wondering paying for training is...

0.3 hrs??? And you did the checkride with no prior experience in the plane other than that??? You actually knew the stall speeds, fuel capacity, limitations, systems and emergency procedures of the C-152 by heart before the checkride??? When I went to the PPL checkride, the examiner wanted to make sure that I knew every inch of the plane I flew for the ride!!!

You guys and your conspiracy theories. I guess that unless you have hundreds of posts you can't be a member or your clique. Bottom line is that I want to be an airline pilot ASAP and don't want to have to CFI to do it.

excuse me....post numbers have nothing to do with anything on this site...

riddle me this....you're talking about *getting* a CFI

so what is the below conversation about?

True story. What's there to know about a 152? Pretty simple airplane.

Uhhh No, I don't see anything there that says that I want to get a CFI.

ok... so you got signed off on being able to do *solo* aerobatic flights, *solo* night flights and *unsupervised* cross countries in 25 hours? is that what you're saying?

OH, and you obtained your PRIVATE pilot checkride.. in 25 hrs??

Yes, but I have more than 25hrs.
