I'm looking to attend ATP at JAX in September of this year and I'm wondering when I should start the process.

How long does it take from initially calling ATP and telling them that you are interested in their ACPP til the day that you start?

How long is the interview process?

How long does it take to get your loan squared away and when should you apply for the loan?

Can you take out a bigger loan to cover the $1,000 dep. and the $2,700 examiner fees?

anything will help.

I would begin the process several months out, but since Jax is so popular it might be wise to begin earlier. I would also consider whether or not you have your private license yet. As for the application and interview process, it is actually quite simple and involves scheduling an interview at any ATP location. If you do the interview at base with the 90-day program, it is done in the sim and costs $100. Other locations can do the interview in a Seminole for a higher amount (not sure exactly), but the difference in cost is credited towards your program if you sign up. This is great, since you get to fly one of our aircraft and get a real idea of what we offer. Overall the interview should take a few hours at most.

You can take out a loan to cover the checkride fees, but not the deposit. How long it takes to secure the loan depends upon having all of the information required available upon application. If you call the 800 number we have someone who handles all the loan applications and can answer questions.
 
you can do the loan yourself. if your using KEY bank, just get on the website click on the aviation loan and fill it out. takes about 5 minutes. if i remember right, all it asks is your personal info, amount, school your going to attend (they have a list, ATP is on there), and co-signer info. (if your using one). if not, there is an option to select "no cosigner". you'll know whether or not your approved in like 48 hours.
 
Im not sure exactly, but Ive heard some people talking about getting their deposits in early to "lock in" the current price, just in case it goes up. Might want to call and check on that one.

I think it can almost happen as quick as you would like to get it on with, pending a free slot at the location you choose..

I spoke with Jim for a bit today on the phone.. I have a interview on the 30th and we've been discussing a class date of April 19th..

Hey Tram, you must have been the guy on the phone with Jim this afternoon when I called several times and they told me he was busy with another call.

Anyway, I finally got to talk to him a little time later and I set up my interview for April 24th in Phoenix. I've got to get out of the state of CT, and the southwest is a cool place.

I thought about Dallas because I'm a Cowboys fan, but I think I like the southwest better.

Hey Cactus Cutter, I'm looking at that same time period for the ACPP, as long as the inter view goes well.
Since my interview is on April 24th, I'm flying out on America West on the 23rd-direct flight from KBDL-can't beat that. Figuring on staying until the 28th so I can check out the area, apartments the students stay in, and so on...
If I'm going to fly out there, making it into a mini vacation seemed like the thing to do-sun, sand, women

Rent a Mustang convertible when I get there, and that should complete the package.
Getting back to when I'm going to attend ATP, September, October seems like a good bet-hopefully the temp will be down to about 100 degrees by then
