A few months in, and I'm only seeing minor changes to scheduled trips. IROPs are a totally different matter since timing out, especially if you started early in the day, is a lot more likely to happen.
As for reserve, we still don't have the ability to bid 6 day on/1 day off blocks yet. We can swap into it now with FLiCA, but they're apparently going to have to go back and re-program the re-programming to get that back. Should be there in a few months. What this has done, at least in my base, is increased the number of guys getting "unstacked" in the bid process. My first month, I held every Friday off no problem, even though I'm dead last on the list. Now? I can't even get Thurs, much less Friday. Most of the high seniority guys bid to sit reserve Mon-Thur since a) you rarely get called since most people call in sick (aka schedule adjust, but that's a different thread) on the weekends and b) we're fat those days as a result of (a) and you get more long call days. So, what happens is us junior guys get stuck with reserve days we don't really want and off Mon-Wed. I had two lines in my bid, Fridays off and off Apr 3-5. Not one Friday off. My wife is having surgery on the 3rd (a Thursday), and not only did it NOT give me that off, it started me the Wed prior. Luckily, our CP's office rocks and has pretty much told me if the reserve grid (which is of course at mins on the days I need off) doesn't change enabling me to drop the days, they'll drop them for me if it comes to that.
Compounding the issue is the fact that both the PBS guys and Crew Planning are asking for another FIFTEEN crews on the 190 in MCO, but they never show up on the system bid that way. It's all WE'RE GROWING FLL!!!! YAY! Nevermind the fact we already don't have enough gates.....
