I know......I'm a dork. No one really has any business going that high, IMO. I guess if both pilots are wearing their masks, it's not as bad. I just had to do it once. I'll go to 510 as well......once. The usual FL430 and FL450 are plenty high. Low and fast is definitely more fun!

Edwards AFB Tower flyby line, T-38 full burner, almost full fwd stick. Calculated at about 10 knots under mach 1.0 that day. My buddy in the back seat said if I hiccuped, he was pulling aft stick as fast as he could, then ejecting.

Took this as a passenger on a Northwest 747 from Shanghai to Tokyo. If I remember correctly it got about 50 kts faster later on in the flight but I had already put my camera away....and yes, I know I was dumb for leaving the flash on.

That's great man. Awesome experience I'm sure. The fastest I've seen at cruise was 615 KTS.
