How far along

Since most here are pilots or aspiring pilots, how far along are you in your training/instructing (Hours/Ratings/etc)?

Where does everyone see themselves in 5 years?

What is your ultimate goal?

Private Pilot ASEL (Oct 2001) ... just shy of 100 hours. Looking to begin instrument training by spring/summer.

5 years ... maybe commercial, maybe not ... probably at that point looking into buying a plane for rec. use for the family.

Doing something else career wise, flying on the side to keep the enjoyment in life ... which kids will also be fulfilling.

30 hours, so close to my Private Pilot! In five more years I'll hopefully be a first officer of a CRJ or some other sort of regional plane. Ultimate goal ever since I was a kid is to be a Major Airline Captain!

PPL (8/04), approx. 100 hours in the logbook, however, if you look at my sig and avatar, you can see what my aspiration is....

Would love to be a part time CFI in addition to ATC.

Sounds good. For a while I was highly interested in being an ATC like my Grandpa who retired from it some time back.

about 285 tt with 65 multi. CFI/CFII/MEI. graduating in May from ERAU and hopefully if things stay the way they are get hired as an FO within a year. First have to find an instructing job. also on the 17th i'm being flown out to houston to interview for an express jet internship. seems the only regional you here about on this board is express jet so hopefully it will work out.

Right now I am 19 attending my first year of Junior College while going to the local FBO. After I graduate out of JC next year I plan on going to DCA, but after reading a bunch of stuff about them on these forums I'm keeping my options open more now to other schools such as ATP.

now thats what i like to hear. Hopefully Don's and my efforts are not in vane.

A little over 500 hours, C-AMEL, 20 away from my commercial rotor add-on (that will be a LONG twenty hours, however!). I personally cannot deal with airline insolvency woes (I admire those who can), but hope to fly professionally at some point in my career.

5 years from now: 26 year old police detective specializing in crimes against property (auto theft being an interest of mine).

I've got my PPL and I'm working on the instrument rating. I'v e got 66 hours and hope to have the IR done by the summer. 5 years will hopefully see me in the right seat of a regional jet, and the ultimate goal is Southwest Airlines.

around 215TT ppl-2/03 instrument 5/04 commercial 3/05 (hopefully) in five years I hope to be getting out of the regionals and into the majors. I would like to fly for Frontier but would also like to fly shorter international trips ie. mexico, maybe south america. Some conflict there because Frontier only flys to a few places in Mexico and I would like to go a bit farther south. Should be an exciting journey and I am looking forward to it. Good luck to everyone!!

I was way off on the first guess

I'm right with you both.

In five years I hope to to have my millions and live on a private island with my own otter on floats.
