I’ve got a Canadian Commercial SE/ME/IFR and want a FAA license (same level off course). Well, what do you do? Simple; Oklahoma needs to verify your foreign license and once they do, you can pick up your FAA license.
NOTE: A PPL/SE/ME that is without your instrument…. If you want a CPL and an instrument rating you need to do a check-ride. So far I can still follow the regulations.
Well it so happens to be that I have the requirements for an ATP so I decided to do the ATP check-ride and be done with it.
Here comes the fun; Got the ATP now but guess what, my SE rating disappeared on my freshly printed ATP. It is limited to PPL only!
What is comes down to, is when you convert your license you just have to do 2 check-rides. It drives me NUTS!!!

It’s that darn paperwork that makes flying so not interesting.
(I guess I have to spent a couple of hundred $$$ to fly commercially here in the states on a SE-airplane. Yippieee, we pilots have enough $$$ to spent anyway!)
