How do determine if there is a hiring boom?

Keep it up is probably really good advice. At the end of the day, they can only call and interview so many people in a given week. Just because you haven't been called yet is not a symptom of rejection.

As far as 'hiring boom' definition, my company is hiring about 400-500 more guys a year right now than they have at the peak year of their max projected retirements so take that however you want.

For all I know, it's on the new one as well. Or it's put in extra curricular activities. Maybe @Derg s friend can comment.

Delta's Airline Apps does not ask if you were a Scout. One can certainly put that down in the volunteer/extra curricular/achievement section. But it is not specifically asked. There is, however, a checkbox for "737 type rating." Probably from back in the last decade guys would go to a legacy, get the 737 type, and bail to Southwest.
