How did you meet your significant other?

I was back at college going on a date and I ended up in the wrong dorm looking for my dates room (stupid beer) and as I was walking through the dorm lost I noticed a door open and peeked in (read, trying to see naked chicks) and as I was looking in a girl was looking out from her desk procrastinating on her homework. The girl who was procrastinating looked familiar and it turns out I went to go to school with her so we started to talk. After about five minutes her roomate named "sally" came in and we were introduced..This was 2001 and I married "sally" in December 2003 and have been together since.

*name changed to protect the innocent

I was dating her best friend (who didn't have a car), and my soon-to-be-eventual wife would drive us around on dates (pick up the friend, pick me up [AFA cadets can't have cars in early years], then we'd all go to the movies).

Her friend and I broke up, but I ended up with the better one out of that pair, to be certain! :)

I met mine at home depot. she worked in the decor department and I worked at the Special Services desk. we would hang out at the dexk every night because it was super slow and we just hit it off.

Freshman in college... Lost 20 bucks... only girl I've ever met who hit the 25 free throws in a row... turns out she was there play hoops as well... :D

Same sorta scenario. . .wife and my ex-girlfriend were roommates. Seemed obvious to everyone except me that my ex-girlfriend and I didn't really gel, but my wife and I were an excellent fit.

The wife is now an engineer; the "ex" is a prosecuting attorney (ADA). She's still psycho too.

I'm not married, however my boyfriend and I had our first "date" in court. I live in a small town, and everyone who has court is required to appear at 9am on Tuesday and sit in the courtroom waiting for their name to be called. We ran into each other on the way in. I was there because of a vandalism charge my ex boyfriend pinned on me, and he was there because he had been picked up for D.U.I.

Being a bit of a troublemaker growing up, I had been to court before, so it wasn't a big deal. He hadn't and was worried he was going to go to jail. So sat next to him and held his hand. Afterwards, he took me to lunch.

We met through my sister, her husband, and a friends boyfriend. Turns out my sister graduated high school with my boyfriend, and her husband, my boyfriend, and my friend's boyfriend played Magic the Gathering together every Friday night.

I tried internet dating once... "Love@AOL" back before some of you kids were out of kindergarten. ;)

(sigh) I feel old.

I ran a BBS on an Everex 2400.

Before that, I had Compuserve on a 300 baud. And then Dad brings home this thing called "Prodigy"...

Heh. My parents had Compuserve. After my dad saw the bill for usage the first month, my mom was no longer allowed near our Tandy Color Computer. :)

OMG! I had one of those! I remember loading BASIC off the cassette so I could learn to program it!

Had to shut it off when "The A-Team" and "Riptide" came on, though. :D

LOL...you all are giving me a chuckle. The funny thing is, I was probably your age or older during those years. I remember signing on the internet when there were maybe 20,000 people online. There was the first online community started by some hippie deadheads called "The Well" based in Sausalito, California. I was there! Live and in Living DOS  Then I started hanging around these folks and started crunching what was to become HTML...damn, I'm old. :D

Yeah, I couldn't get a membership to The Well. I tried, though. But by 1987, it was already pretty damned crowded, so I limited myself to the BBS communities in Atlanta.
