Well, and for what it's worth, I agree that one oughtn't be easily discouraged in anything, or one is very likely to wind up at BurgerWorld cursing the fates for not handing them everything they wanted exactly when they wanted it. I think we agree that the upshot is "make careful, INFORMED, rational, long-term choices". The interesting thing (to me, anyway) is that when you do this, your short-term, live-with-it-every-day, voice-in-the-back-of-your-head peace of mind is improved, as well.

I'm on track to graduate spring of 2016 with a degree in computer engineering. I'll definitely have to look into meeting with the club, it would definitely help.

To the original poster, don't under ANY circumstance leave your school early to pursue flying. Graduate from your Big 10 school and then take up flying full time.

Wrong! When you graduated, they weren't in the Big 10. Now me on the other hand, I DID graduate from 2 Big 10 schools.

At least half of the CFIs at the school I teach at are engineers who have built up the ratings to teach on the weekend.
 
So what I'm getting from this thread is transfer to Syracuse because they graduate the most talented/smartest people and cheer for the 4 time Super Bowl champion Giants. Also something about flying and debt.

Great, I believe there is a flight school at Bellfonte still. check it out and go for an intro flight/first lesson.
