Housing in OKC

I just received my final offer letter today and will be starting classes on Monday the 12th. I'm looking for a place to stay, but all the FAA approved housing places are full. If anyone knows of an opening, or is looking for a roommate PM me, or post here.

I'm staying at Highland Pointe. It's in Yukon and about 15mins from the academy. The place was built about 4 years ago and it's really nice. PM me if you want more info about the place.

I don't understand how it can be more expensive if they charge $81 per night just like an apartment does? I'm guessing I'm missing something b/c it sounds like most people go to apartments even though a hotel sounds better.

LOL :)

Most of the apartments I've looked at seem to be around $39/day furnished for a one bedroom. Not sure what your needs are, but I believe the most expensive apartment I've seen listed was like $60/day.

I thought someone said you need to have receipts for your lodging and you don't get paid more than the housing cost. So why not max out the lodging per diem?

From what I understand, the total per diem is $79.20 per day while in OKC. That is the housing allowance, food, and misc. amounts added together. Most of the one bedroom apartments are in the $35-40 range which still allows you to buy food and other necessities with the rest of your per diem. If you max out on lodging with the whole $79.20 then the rest of your expenses are out of your own pocket.
