Housing at DCA

Hi,

I am from the UK, and I am thinking of enrolling in DCA's JAA 6 week PPL program. Does anyone know if housing is included in the price? Also, do you need to wear uniform? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I believe everything you require will cost extra. I believe they have three student housing trailer parks at this time. And yes, they do wear uniforms, it makes you a better pilot.

Benefit of the doubt, right?

I'm pretty sure he was being very facetious. "Everything you require will cost extra ...", "trailer park housing ...", and "... uniforms, it makes you a better pilot."

And most telling, his signature: "Delta Connection Academy....Deceiving And Bankrupting Aspiring Pilots For 15 Years".

socapilot,

not sure what bug was up fly's a$$, i am guessing he's one of the guys that didn't study enough and blames DCA for his shortcomings.... just a guess so please hold the flames everyone. Anyhow, yes we wear uniforms and I am pretty sure that the price does not include housing. There are plenty of flyers around for rooms for rent and if you need a place, even short term I could get you some numbers and you can call and see if anyone has a short term rental....

Just as an outsider, I love that!!!

"If you don't like DCA, it's because you suck and you just couldn't hack the program!!"

What's up with that?

mtsu,

i didn't say he sucked, i didn't say anyone sucked, what i said was that i was GUESSING that he was someone that didn't put forth the effort to make it here... it is possible that he is angry for some other reason, but his random negativity about DCA bothers me quite a bit.

Do your homework... if you want to bash DCA.

No trailler parks... the school offers as an OPTION ( and I am assuming that you have an understandig of the meaning of that word ) student housing. They are apartments and they do cost extra.

Uniforms are not adopted by DCA only. Other large 141 schools also have an Uniform Policy. So do the Airlines... so what is the problem with getting used to it right from the beggining? Does it make you a "bad pilot" ?

So here we have another goofballl that cowardly attacks the academy and is not even brave enough to have an e-mail or ICQ address available. It is easy to be a bully when you remain incognito.

Learn with Lloyd and Don and do your homework...

I know the student housing is in an apartment complex...but they are very trashy areas. Then again, so is the rest of Sanford. Lets see, Sanford is a dump full of hicks and trash, and Delta Connection Academy chooses to locate their school there...Go Figure. And by the way, I don't have an email address on here because I don't care to receive emails from anyone on here....and I don't have ICQ. And, I am not a coward. I know you. I have spoken with you before. I actually think you are a nice guy Fabio...in person, that is. However, sometimes I think you act like a real a$$ on here. I could never figure out why after having met you in person since you seem like a genuinely nice guy. Perhaps I was mistaken. You can be as gung-ho about your school as you like, but you lose credibility when you attack and bash EVERYONE who dislikes your school. Not everyone who went to your school and left is a loser. Some thought it was a $hitty school that did nothing more than rip people off. I am sure there are others that left because they could not "hack" the program. Don't be so foolish as to think that everyone who leaves is the latter.

By the way, I don't care about uniforms. It was meant as a joke.

You have asked for that response with the out-of -line signature.

I have a problem with everyone that bashes DCA and don't identify themselves. For all I know the motivations to spend the time to say negative things are based on a negative experience, but some people will write here based on hearsay.

Sanford International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the Nation and a great place to train. The school was intially purchased by COMAIR Airlines 15 years ago and even though Sanford is not "Martha's Vinyeard", the proximity of places like Lake Mary ( where some of our students and instructors live ) and Heathrow make your address a matter of choice. All you have to do is the homework...

Now I do think that some of the guys that either did not get hired, or failed Standz, will come to this forum... if this is your case, why not tell the story? Perhaps you are embarassed?

Some students decide in mid course that it takes too much effort and consequently time and money, and they opt out to some easier programs around the "neighborhood". That is their option and I do respect that . One of my best friends left school to go to another program. He is buying a type rating on a CRJ and hope to get hired by Air Wisconsin. And even though I don't agree with him, I do sincerely hope that he succeeds.

I have never said that EVERYONE that left DCA is a loser, but I have implied that SOME of the folks that write here are exactly in that category. It may not be your case, but judging by the level of your grudge it is hard not to wonder...

And since my e-mail is readily available, you could call me an A$$$$ on a private note as to spare the fellow forum participants.

So feel free to drop me an e-mail or call me at school, but please tell me your name
