How come all the hotels took away skinemax and I'm stuck watching Tracy Ulmann at 200 in the morning. I mean seriously why?!?
 
I'm more interested in free high speed internet. Finding the nearest Starbucks is a bit silly...
 
Agreed with the internet. If the hotel has free internet (I bring a Cat5 cable with me so wired or wireless means nothing to me) and free breakfast, it's a ok with me. That's what I don't understand. Detroit Marriot is a swanky place with a cd to put you to sleep, oils to help relax you, but no free breakfast! WTFO!
 
If the hotel has a restaurant, it is very unlikely there will be any free breakfast.

The Hamptons and HI Express's only have free breakfast because they have no restaurant.

That is changing more and more, though. I was in a Fairfield (Marriott version of the Hampton) yesterday that had a restaurant attached (independently owned though, I believe), and also had a free breakfast buffet for guests. I was in another hotel a few days back (Hilton, can't remember which city) that had a restaurant and also had a free buffet set up on one of the upper floors for their Honors members. In a Hilton Garden last week (Fort Meyers?) they gave passes for a free breakfast to their in-house restaurant. Business travelers are demanding free internet and free breakfast and hotels are starting to move that way, even the upper end places. I've seen it change quite a bit in just the last couple of years.
