hello all. i am from KC (or near). i wanted to help all of you out with hotel options since this site has been a big help to myself and others. what you need to know is that the PEPC location is in downtown KC. this can be a very hectic and confusing place to be. you will be there during rush hour, and there are a lot of one way streets. here's the other thing. if you want to stay close to the PEPC, you are going to PAY to stay close. the cheapest hotel that i found is $100/night. that may not be much for some of you, but to those of us who know the city and suburbs, that is kinda pricey. the comfort inn and suites is .2 miles from the location and is the cheapest. the marriott, the hilton, and hotel phillips are .5 miles away but range from $129-$179/night. hope this helps! let me know if you have any questions.

yeah im stayin at the comfort inn. best price. there was the Hilton at Kansas City Airport that was $79 per night, but my appointment is at 7am and i wanted to be close. to help bring the costs down im goin with another person who was offered the same Facility as me. i think everyone should try to do that. cut everything in half. just a suggestion

You could always stay at the Casino!

The closest casino is Isle of Capri, but I don't believe they have a hotel.

Argosy has a new hotel (haven't gotten to stay in it yet). http://www.stayargosy.com/

Sooo, get in the morning before and play your ass off until you can get a room comp... LOL :p

I went to Priceline yesterday and put in for a 4 star hotel at $55.00. they accepted and I got the Hyatt Regency Crown Center 2345 Mcgee Street Kansas City, Missouri 64108. It totaled to $74.00 after taxes for one night.

is there any chance of getting one of the hotels nearby the OP listed above?^^

i know most of the time they don't tell you which hotel until after you buy :/

the problem with the location is that it is downtown, and most of the hotels downtown fall along the lines of: the marriot and the hyatt. there is a holiday inn downtown, but i think it might be pricey. to answer your question, i can't say that you WON'T get a hotel downtown, but i would say that it isn't likely. i still say your best bet would be to go with comfort in and suites. i think if you add cab fares up on top of a hotel outside of the loop, you are going to be paying more than what you are saving on a room.

That Holiday Inn is going for about $109 a night. If you were to add it on to your flight using Travelocity, it would end up being a little less.
Compared to the prices I'm used to, $109 is unbelievable to be in the downtown area of a city. I've had to pay around $500 a night to stay in NYC, or $400 in Boston in the past.
I'm thrilled to death about the hotel prices.

I'm staying at the La Quinta, about 3 miles south of the PEPC. How long would you suspect it take me to get there with the traffic and all? My PEPC time is 7:00AM. Thanks.

with traffic, if the cab as to take I-35, i think i would leave 30 mins. before. you may be a little early, but it's always good to be early to an inerview.
