Horizon

See, I seriously love hearing stuff like this. Correct me if I am wrong, but I seriously have felt that most people complaining about this airline either aren't from the PNW/west coast (commuting) or they just really have had a bad experience here, which is why I have been so back and fourth between CPZ/QXE. I have seriously loved this airline and the planes you guys have flown since I was little and add the crews/employees sound awesome makes me want to work here all that much more. Thank you. Really.
There is a lot of that...and a literal sheet ton of people that can't just be happy, and learn to let go of what they can't control. Has it been all fun and games since I started here (nearly 9.5 years ago)...nope! Furloughed, had my base shrunk out from under me when we did the smaller bases (went from holding lines/weekends off to bottom bish), etc...but my paycheck clears every 2 weeks, and the people I work with are pretty damn awesome.
I'm not from the NW, but had it not been for Horizon, I doubt I would have fallen in love with Seattle/Washington State...It's where I'm going to call home, it's in my soul.

If you love Horizon, then come join us! Come be part of the Heart of Horizon (That's the one thing that Alaska will never take from us)

Almost made some man tears come out lol, I really would love to be apart of this group honestly. I've got about a month remaining til this work contract expires and then I will be back here with the news be it yay or nay. I really do appreciate what you've told me, thank you! I really have always had my eyes on QX since i was little (and they had the QX airplane inside the terminal you could sit in) and I really am happy to still hear the positives and pride coming from here.

If Horizon has been your goal, then go for it...damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead, F-the haters, and all that jazz.

Hopefully when you get to LOFT 2/LOE in the sim, they'll call me in to be your support pilot :)

Most of the crews are awesome. There's this one dude from some place in the south who's a total dillweed though. Watch out for him, and you'll be alright.

:D

Congrats! Just be relaxed. They want to hire you.

Thanks! I had an interview set up with SkyWest this week as well, but due to an unfortunate incident involving my shoulder I am postponing that one for a few weeks. Weighing the pros and cons of both airlines has kept me up a few nights. So now I am just trying to not overthink, relax and give my best effort at the interviews. Then I can again lose sleep IF I get any job offers.

Does anyone have any good links to gouge for the interview? Especially jep plates, all I have ever used is NACO.

Jepp plates are a pretty big deal at the Horizon interview so make sure you know the symbology. They will ask symbology for enroute charts as well as approaches. I'm not sure which specific ones.

There's some on willflyforfood, but disregard the older ones, as the interview is a lot different than it was even a couple years ago. There will be a sim check which is done in house now, as well as a 3 part interview (HR, Chief Pilot's office and Technical). On the technical portion, I think they're looking for general IFR knowledge as well as general Jepp knowledge. Aside from some things like "What is V1/V2? I think on the technical side, most of the questions would be appropriate for an instrument check ride, with a few scenario questions based on a route they fly. Know the Jepp charts. Download the legend, and read through it a few times. They're looking for a good working knowledge I think, not that you necessarily know every single obscure symbol on there.
