What do Horizon guys think of AAG acquiring Virgin America?
A more pertinent question. What does Horizon guys/gals think of SkyWest?

Judging by all the writing on the walls in the bathroom stalls in PDX, they arent fans.A more pertinent question. What does Horizon guys/gals think of SkyWest?

Now you tell me. The eye bandage comes off next week. You're not supposed to stare into the holes in the bathroom wall.

I have OO pilots and QX pilots as FB friends. I see a lot of name calling in some post. Like calling OO pilots SkyWorst. And calls for jump seat wars on both sides.

Conflicts with the on call time. For example at Endeavor, you bid for 3 different on call times. If you get the 1000-2399 reserve you can pick up a trip that ends by midnight before your reserve days or a trip that starts at 1000 the day after your reserve days. How do you know if you have a conflict on reserve days you haven't been assigned flying yet?
They're actually taking the traditional route on this one, and are not the first union to go to a court first.
Perhaps it starts in court, but I don't think it stays there for long. The obvious company arguement is "This is a minor dispute and those are handled by the NMB arbitration process in accordance with the RLA."
is this a serious question? How do you know if you have a conflict on reserve days you haven't been assigned flying yet?

it doesn't let you pick up anything that would conflict with a scheduled reserve day....i don't quite see how that's so hard to understand.
The point of the question, and the reason a lot of places do not allow it, is because the system doesn't know what flying you will get on your reserve days. You are answering that it won't allow you to pick up time that would require rest in to your reserve periods. That's fine, but it doesn't address the real problem with flying on your off days.
The problem is when you pick up so much flying on your 2 off days that the system can't assign you a trip that pops up because it would put you over your flight time limits. It makes you less usable on the days that you are on reserve. Companies don't tend to like that.

So then you don't have a 30 hour rest block in your lookback and you are useless to the schedulers for a full 6 day block or reserve (if you have that much). Not to mention you have eaten into your flight time limits for the week and possibly screwed up anchoring (although, not so much so at a regional). It's great they let you do it, but there are a ton of potential issues with it that tend to prevent it from happening at some shops.
#lawyered.Because the company negotiated with the union for those bonuses. The problem isn't the bonus, it's that the company implemented it without negotiating.
