It's been IMC every day for like a week and a half!!! Just a few holes of VFR, but not much!! Good thing I like this flight instructing thing, because we had a guy quit...

All this, and my long instrument student just quit (I saw it comming - he sucks...).

yeah, the weather here in GFK has been pretty craptastic lately. Would be great if I was working towards my IR right now, but instead as timing may have it I'm workin on commercial. On Wed I did my first flight since the 9th of this month. 3 weeks off cause of crappy weather :-(

How does someone quit a CFI job, after they worked so hard to get there..or are you talking about a student?

No...you just walk out the door!!

I've seen more than one CFI quit - they're usually the ones that think that being a CFI sucks anyway.

I knew one that quit out in NC to go back and work in Daddy's lumber company...oh, well!

Just be glad you can get real IMC. Tough to get in Utah.

No shame in leaving a CFI job. I did it and miss the money but not the management.

Wow, I wish it were IMC for such a long period here in NJ. I may actually have a chance to get out and log a few more hours before the winter arrives. But that whole job thing makes it hard to get out on the few good IMC days we will have before the freezing level gets too low.

EXACTLY what I was thinking, Ed . . .

We've had about a week and a half of solid IMC here in western Michigan, too. All but one of my 7 students are working on the instrument rating, so it's been fantastic. Actual for them, actual for me: Now that's a winning combo!

I was paid $25 per hour of ground or flight for a CFI that was pretty good for Instructing. However when I quit or was fired depends on who you ask, the company hired two less experienced CFI's paid them $15 per hour and raised the instructing rates from $35 to $42 per hour

Needless to say if you want a private pilot from them it will cost you
$9,463.00
But everything is included and completed in 14 days with 43 hours in you logbook!

I better quit now before I get on my soapbox
