Holy Steep Approach Batman

First third of the runway
On speed
On centerline

What's the problem?:)

The title of the video is "ATR hard landing". If that was the part that they were concerned about...

haha it didn't seem that hard to me, just insanely steep. i mean i've never flown something bigger than a baron but does it normally say sink rate on a stabilized approach?

All the youtube commenters are saying "omg pitch trim failure!" BS.

The camera pans back to the JS'er and another guy standing in the cockpit doorway at the end, and they give the thumbs up. I know that face. That's the "look at what a badass I am" face. I've made it myself a few times in airplanes. ;)

So lets get real. It was probably an empty leg, and they probably wanted to see what a full flap (power idle) approach profile looked like. Now we know!

Is this a rhetorical question? Of course the GPWS doesn't alert on a stabilized approach (~3 degree glideslope). That doesn't necessarily mean this was unsafe (the flare and touchdown looked fine) but it certainly didn't meet the conventional definition of "stabilized." :)

I think they were practicing the approach to St. Barts.

.

i've been meaning to find a video of the cockpit shot, it looks way more intense in that than the ones on the ground! although i heard a rumor that at St. Barts that on one of the taxiways (probably the second one I would assume) that there is a huge sign that says "If not down here go around" or something to the equivalent.

When he started the descent, I thought I heard...singing....

Kidding...it sound like the guy was pretending to be rolling in on a strafing run, "taka-taka-taka." Just like Robert Shaw schooling the noobie in Battle of Britian.

At my airline, it's on speed, on glide path, configured, with the throttles in a "normal" position by 1000 feet, or something like that.

Watch at 0:25, the captain points down and says "down we go"

And the guy videotaping this kind of looks like Douschebag Steve!

I like how your fail at spelling circumnavigated the profanity filter!

"Heard what?"
"I thought I heard singing, sir."

I didn't get a chance to listen to it with audio earlier. First, love the "Taka taka taka taka." :D

Second, they're speaking español. Prop RPM to "maxima", etc. So unless Eagle allows cockpit checklist call and response items in spanish in their op specs, this is probably at an airline the feds have no jurisdiction over.
