HNL LDA 26L landing 26R

Stop it you are making me miss it! With this weather I wish I could still walk down a couple blocks to the beach.

Keep checking the hiring page. They just sent out an email looking for line pilots to assist with interviews so I'd guess they are starting up the process again soon.

Delerium??! You're the man!

Thanks. I *think* this mp3 was one I found on my college's network when I lived in a dorm 14 years ago. For you youngin's back in the days before bittorrent and the Itunes Store (and when Napster and Limewire were just getting started) the only way to get new music (other than going to the store and buying it) was to scour your network for shared folders. Lots of music, low res movies and pr0n. Fun times.

The song still holds up pretty well though.

I'll have to check and get brushed up on my regs again. 91 flying has gotten me rusty.

Very cool, never been to HNL when they were using the 26's. Must make for a fun ride in the back and awesome shots from the ground. So many A330s there now, last time I was there they just had 3 and I was super excited to see 2 of them there at once. And JAL was still running 4-5 747-400s a day into HNL plus a 767, I see a 777 in the vid.

I'm not sure how many 330s we have now, but it's more than the 767s. Maybe around 15 or so with three (or 4?) more coming this year. Also, Korean, Delta, Jetstar, Air China (starting just last week... I was taxiing in right behind their first flight and they asked ground to request 3 wheelchairs for them because they didn't know the ops frequency) and sometimes a few other random 330s show up daily. Philippine Airlines is bringing in a 340 now.

The whale fleet is down to Korean, China Airlines, every once in a while United and Delta, and then UPS across the ramp. Atlas, World, Kalitta and Southern are pretty regular too, as was Evergreen until they shut down.

United had 5 777s parked at the terminal the other day plus two 767s, a 757 and (looking like a lost RJ) a 737.

JAL has (I think) 2 777s and a 767 daily now.

I saw what I think was the A330 Tanker demo unit parked up on the transient ramp at Hickam the other day. I thought Boeing had complained enough to get that kicked out of consideration.

Appreciate the nerd info. Been there many times and never spotted other than waiting for flights. Now that I have my UA bennies back, I'll make a day or two trip out there for photography. I'll let you know when I do that.

I wonder if the shrinkage of JAL at HNL is due to the downsizing of the carrier or a decline in Japanese tourism. They must have filled a lot of seats with 5 747s and a 767.

It may have been during Golden Week (beginning of May). There is a huge amount of travel then.

JAL has had their 787's in here more regularly, too, and this time WITHOUT Fire and Rescue!
