Hired!

Well I barely lasted one week on furlough from Eagle and I already have a class date with another regional. I still have a bad case of SJS since I'm quite excited about the new changes which include auto-throttles, slats, a lot more thrust, more pay and 2 lavs!

So which regional is that? My knowledge of RJ cockpit and cabin amenities isn't up to par (really isn't there at all) to recognize what the heck airframe you're talking about.

Congrats btw.

Good to hear, I was furlough in 09 and know the feeling. I would check on the more pay thing the company pulled the higher pay rates.

Thanks guys. Yes, RAH on the Embraer 170/175. Gonzo sorry to hear, you're right though about the pay but I was including the 5k hiring bonus.

Good deal.

Curiously, do you (or others) still retain recall rights when they get hired by another 121 carrier? (am not familiar with how that all works).

Yes/No/Maybe How do you like that answer. It really depends on a few things. Some airlines don't care and will let you keep your recall rights at the other airline, and some will make you send a letter to your old airline saying you are forfeiting your recall rights. Now some airlines will not process the letter because they know why you are sending the letter. Now with some other airlines it depends on who you have recall rights with, my understanding is Gojet is cool with United guys not giving up recall rights but other pilots do. See, clear as mud.

I love stuff that's clear as mud! :)

So it's more a thing regarding the gaining carrier and what they want, versus the losing carrier and what they allow?

congrats jet...I'll be joinging you at RAH...(shuttle side) got an april 25th class....I'll be a colgan furlough too...

Hah! That is terrific! Congrats! Don't sweat the small stuff. Just fly and do your job and don't get caught up in the b.s. As long as you are moving forward, that is all that matters. Enjoy your new ride, man.

Don't get caught up in the B.S. The B.S. will decide your future at that company. If they stricke probies will be on the street.

I'd be shocked if they take it to a strike, I just don't see that happening. But either way, taking a job with a chance of getting kicked to the street sounds like a better idea than not taking the job and staying on the street. I didn't exactly get a plethora of interviews with my three digit total time.
