Hilarious Lego Airline satire video

Joshing aside for dressing metrosecksual or whether or not a freight guy should look perfect is beside the point, really, and is only one of the small things. What matters is that an expectation has been set, those that don't meet it have had problems. If I'm a rouge AMF ACP for strongly disliking the polo, whatever. I couldn't care less. I set the expectations for the base and so did the ones before me. This base had problems when the expectation was low and/or the ACP didn't care enough to bother. Objectively speaking, base performance, has been perfectly aligned with this throughout the entire company.

We're going to have to agree to disagree buddy. SJU under the last guy wasn't any different than any other base if not worse while I was at AMF. You have to remember I was at AMF 8 years and knew some of everyone.

One day SJU was supposed to plane swap with CVG. I was the middle man in MIA that was supposed to take the plane the rest of the way while it landed there. So the young lady lands in the airplane that has 1hr left in it before it's next maintenance was due. This plane was supposed to be flown up to CVG and immediately put into service and it threw everything off. They sent up a sick bird in exchange for a healthy bird. Heads exploded and nasty emails were sent. Maintenance and staffing issues have always plagued SJU.

The best base in the entire system was always BFI. The old ACP never wore a uniform on days he was flying. He just wore fleece zipped all the way up with a white tshirt underneath. He was well liked and we'll respected by everyone. The manager of the base brought donuts and sandwiches to work during peak. He also ground fresh coffee every morning. As you may know every base has different morale and a different culture. BFI had a great culture!

It might just be me though. It's hot, I'm sweaty, and tired from the ridiculous long flights or long duty day. The last thing I'd want to hear is management fussing at me about choosing to wear a company provided polo shirt that is said to be acceptable in the policy manual because he feels it's unprofessional.

I flew the 300 in a polo shirt and slacks yesterday. The other guy ripped the button off of one of his epaulet straps. So we wore the polos to match. The boss in the back did not care and likely did not even notice.

This is what I don't understand and would have a problem with if I worked there.

This would be the equivalent of my CP saying I can't wear the company approval leather jacket during the winter because he feels it looks unprofessional.

Correlation is not causation.

If it was, we could say that a lack of pirates causes global warming. But hey, if you want to run with that, go right ahead.

It would be stinky and dirty so fast out here. Whether it's dog pee, spilled soda, fish and who knows what else. :)

Ugh, did you ever move sled dogs? The f-ing worst! The WORST! I couldn't stand putting dogs in the back of a 207 or the Van, even if it was in a kennel!

Luckily I never did. I moved the food though which smelled just as bad. We do move dogs in the saab though. I try not to fly those flights.

We will indeed go our separate ways on this one.

The only thing I'm going to say is that SJU isn't BQN and they split the bases 3 years ago for numerous reasons, one being what you mentioned above, and I'm not out there cracking the whip or screaming like some crazed overlord.

Is it as relaxed as BFI? I don't know, I haven't been there in awhile. If not, I definitely don't swing so far the other way thay it's anything like a certain West coast or Midwest base either... Yes, I bring in food and stay late for late arrivals for moral support, and we do Thanksgiving every year. :)

Or like I read on @seagull's facebook page by one of his friends… (paraphrased) "Nevermind the website it's posted on, it's all scientifically sourced".

Mmmmmmkay...

After spending a spell in academia, I can tell you that many things are "scientifically proven"....given that the grant money is right. The subtext of many research projects is to "prove" that more grant money is needed.

It's about the dollars...always the dollars.

Back on the original topic, I still giggle like an idiot every time I think about "gyaaaaaaarrrd" and "hollandaise? Isn't that a sauce?"
