high performance rating

Hi,

I am flying a cessna 401 which is high performance with a gentleman who isn't an instructor, but just owns the plane and has his commercial multi license. I do not have a high performance rating, so I want to get one. A buddy of mine has one but is not a MEI. Can he still legally give me the endorsement? Thanks

there is no high performance rating. You need an endorsement and will have to go up with an MEI.

Or a SE with 201+ horsepower and said instructor. Just want to make it clear there is no difference between a SE high performance and ME highperformance endorsement.

Sure he can- just not in a multi. Do the endorsement in a high performance single, and it's good for multi engine too.
