High Blood Pressure, now under control with Med.

About a month ago went into Kaiser complaining with some chest discomfort, after an EKG (which came back normal) I was put in Atenol (25mg) as a precaution due to the fact my blood pressure was 158/119 and told the feelings in my chest were due to work related stress
Two week later my blood pressure is down to 138. But i am told i will stay on the drugs for the rest of my life.
Will this be looked upon negatively in regional or major hiring situations down the road?

You might have to be on the medication, it depends on the type of hypertension you truely have.
Stress reduction is a big key to reducing high blood pressure,as well as weight reduction, healthy eating, and excercise.

It will not be a hiring issue. You will need to provide the evaluatuion report to the FAA to obtain a medical though. They will grant a Special Issuance and the AME can renew the medical each year after that.
