Hi im new to this website just want to meet some people.

Hey everyone...

Im new to this website and just wanted to let everyone know that im here. I think this is a pretty cool site. And I joined to learn more about planes. When I get older I want to be a fighter pilot for the air force.

Welcome to JC! This is a great place to learn about all aspects of the aviation industry.

I'll be the first to say it then...

I know this is "just" a web forum, but people will take you a lot more seriously if you don't post like you are sending a text message. Just some friendly advice.

Other then that... welcome.

Very true...

Welcome Tokra! You'll find this is a very educational site. If there are any questions that can't be answered by the search function, fire away! I second BobDDuck's suggestion to stick to more formal grammar while on here. You will definitely improve your image by doing so.

Re: Hi im new to this site.

Im so sorry for my grammar I just fixed it. And I changed my picture. I was going to ask you guys if you have to go to boot camp to be a airforce pilot? and what kind of math do I need to learn?

Re: Hi im new to this site.

to get those questions, you'll want to start a thread in the military forum...you'll get the best answers there by guys who are or are going into the air force or what not. Also, to get info on the ROTC route, talk to Frog_Flyer. he's a good resource and has been through the program.

How old are you?

yea.. the guys shouldn't be picking on your grammar so much as at least explaining why we don't use "texting" language on the board. For the most part, we talk and type like most professionals would and you'll learn that as you learn the site.

Please... ask all the questions you need or want...and if anyone gives you a hard time, let us know (doug or myself).

Welcome! :D

Hey Tokra, Welcome to JC!

If your still in Junior or High School you might look into the Civil Air Patrols Cadet Program. ( www.cap.gov ) Aviation, leadership and Search & Rescue training. If your looking to go into any of the military academies, they look favorably on CAP Cadets who have excelled in the Program.

Good Luck
Bill

Thanks for the replys, How do you become a good pilot?
Practice, practice! Just make sure you share some love with an instructor first before going up to do said practice...

and what is Aviation?
Hmmmm...... let's see:

Dictionary.com Unabridged defines it as "the design, development, production, operation, and use of aircraft, esp. heavier-than-air aircraft."

But, honestly, aviation is like a hooker - it's expensive, you use it when you need/want it, but you should never rely on it.

Welcome to the site, n00b! :)
