Hi everyone,

It's been quite a while since I've been around the forums here. I've missed JetCareers. Boy have the last 3 years been tough! I'll look forward to looking around and see what everyone's been up to.

Question: Anyone work at or know anything about Delta Private Jets which I guess is formerly Delta Air Elite? I'm interested in knowing more if some of you have some insight.

Thanks in advance folks! It's good to be back!

Jonny,

I have very little. They somehow merged with Seagrave, a 135 with a pretty bad rep. Reports differ, but the majority seem to suggest that Seagrave basically controls things now. I've talked to guys on the road, and thier reports are not positive. That said, there is a schedule, and it seems that it's fairly strict. The pay is awful, but you can live where you like and you get Delta pass benefits (no idea at what level). The only thing that I know for certain is that Seagrave's policies seem to be in place w/r/t "letting go" of guys whose currency has expired and hiring guys who are current (who will eventually be those other guys). That said, there are a lot of bottom-feeders out there, and for the right guy, DAE might be a good move. Just proceed with caution. For more or better info, I'd recommend searching for "Seagrave" and DAE on every forum you can find.

Best of luck.

Thanks Boris. Yes, I've heard about Seagrave in the past and know some people who've worked there. I've never heard anything good either. So, if that's the case then that's probably all I need to know. I'll check around and ask my Seagrave contacts but if the pay is bad then I'm definitely not interested, let alone the whole firing and hiring based on currency; that is pathetic. I have a good job now but I really want (and need) to get back to Socal and there isn't much going on there right now.

Thanks again!

I understand the draw of getting home all too wickedly well. It's funny how when you're 20 you're on fire to get away and when you're 30 you're on fire to get back. Or I am anyway. That said, from the guys I've talked to, it's not a "move up" kind of job, more like a way to keep current and wait for the next opportunity. IMS, the pay is $40k/year for an F/O and $60k/year for a C/A. I should add, though, that things are seemingly different for a "managed" airplane vs. being a "company man". As I understand it, the pilots for managed airplanes have their own payscales/work rules/days off, etc. However it all works out, welcome back. As you can see, the inmates (like me) have taken over the asylum. We need some Old Timers to keep us in line. ;)
