Hello everyone. I've been reading this forum for about a month or so, and I decided to join. I guess i'd better tell you guys a little bit about myself. I'm 20 years old from Central MA. (anyone here ever fly out of ORH?) As you can tell by my avitar, i'm a big fan of the now defunct Sabena (this is because of... don't laugh... flight simulator, i always used Sabena skins on all of my planes for some reason.) I also have an unusual love for A320s and that is what I'd like to fly someday if I had my choice. I currently don't have any flight time but hopefully very soon I'll change that. I'm trying to get in to Daniel Webster College in Nashua NH right now. ( http://www.dwc.edu/ )(I know that most people suggest not going to an aviation school, but with financial aid, it would actually be cheaper to take my flight training at a college than at an FBO. If I don't get in there I'm just going to work like crazy and get my ratings at the local flight school though. alright, well that's about it.

ORH...Worcester, I've been there several times in my cargo days. nice little airport. It is the only time I had to wait for someone to clear turkeys off the runway before I could depart.

Good luck with your training. One word of caution, just keep an eye on the debt you are racking up with student loans. They will come back to bite you later on. Try and live as debt free as possible. This will give you the most options later on when you are looking for jobs.

...is excellent advice!

Welcome. Good luck with school. The consensus seems to be that many will go to aviation schools, big academies, but perhaps to obtain a private cert. first at a Part 61 FBO to make sure flying is what you want to do.

thanks everyone. I'm pretty sure (99%) that flying is what I want to do. Ever since I was a little kid i've loved flying. I was lucky because my aunt is a pilot (she flies Islanders and Cherokee 6s part time for a small charter airline) and she used to own a Warrior II so when I was younger I got to fly much more often (she sold the plane a while back). I also have flown RC model aircraft for 12 years now, and now becoming a pilot is all I can think about!!! hehe
