I have been flying for the past few years, and recently realized that I had not posted here in quite some time. I am currently in East TN flying Bell 206 helicopters. I am however moving back to the Dallas, TX area in Feb for my wife's company, and will begin the "fun" searsch for a job all over again. I am now at 3000 hours of which 2750 is Helicopter. I have around 255 hours of f/w time and my coml ME rating with 35 hours ME time. I am wondering if I should continue flying helicopters full time or maybe transition into the airlines and fly Helos on the side.
Anyway, it is good to be back. I will be posting more often.

Good to "see" you all again!

There are a lot of air ambulance companies that utilize both helos and f/w. Also, check into police departments.

If you want to work for the airlines go for it, the only problem may be the f/w time. Many airlines don't count the helo time for much, some let you use half.

Where are you in East Tennessee?

Nope, thats 219sh 206BIII at Scenic Helicopter Tours in Sevierville, TN (Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area). I plan on working for PHI though. I like their NVG program for EMS!

It is a good looking ship. I thought about going to ID to get the NVG course there. Mainly because it is looking like I will need another hundred hours to get a job. Most schools are requiring 300 helo time these days. ( pathfinder Ins.) I am at 150 helo and 50 fixed. I have my insturment ride in two weeks. Then couple of things left to do for my commercial.

Welcome [back] to JC!

Great paint-job on the 206! I miss flying those - good times.

So what's the deal? Getting sick of helicopters, or just want a change?
